The beginning

The first wedding planned by Southern Elegance Events was actually the owner’s .  Nikki and Zack had a 180 person wedding that they planned and paid for themselves.  Wedding planning on a budget for sure!

The wedding was held at the family country club, Palm Aire Country Club of Sarasota.  The outside ceremony had a gorgeous natural backdrop, and Nikki made sure to include her own special touches.  The mason jars lining the aisle were all hand painted by Nikki in the months leading up to the big day! Since Nikki’s signature color is pink, the couple’s colors were very easily decided.  They sought to carry the pink and black scheme throughout the wedding, in a vibrant but tasteful way.  From the pink cake, to the pink centerpieces and the pink and black place cards, everything was coordinated.

Nikki and Zack are both very close with their families, and wanted to make sure their wedding was family friendly, and reflective of their personalities.  The favors were small apothecary jars with personalized labels, filled with the couples favorite candies (Skittles for Nikki, gummy bears for Zack).Nikki even ordered a custom candle for the guest book table, mentioning her deceased grandparents by name, to help tie them into the special day.

Zack is a HUGE Gator fan (he did graduate from there, after all) so the groom’s cake was an obvious choice:
Nikki thought of every detail;  from the seating, to the bottoms of her shoes, to the top of the cake.

The wedding was a complete success, and everyone raved about Nikki’s organization and eye for detail  afterwards, and thus, a company was born!
As you can see, being on a budget does not mean you have to sacrifice taste, personalization or fun! Call Southern Elegance Events and see what we can do with your budget!
