Secret Garden Stylized Shoot (originally published 8/13/2012)

We FINALLY get to share the pics and details from a shoot we did back in May.  We did the shoot with aka photographs along with our Citrus Burst and Peacock shoots, but this one was a little more special, and we submitted it to some wedding blogs to be published.  We couldn’t share it publicly until that happened and last week it did! :)

Centerpieces with copies of The Secret Garden

So now that we can share it, we will.  Nikki has a degree in English, and loves to read.  When we were thinking up this shoot, the idea of basing a wedding around a book or books kept coming up.  Rustic weddings are all the rage (in fact, one of our weddings for 2013 has a VERY rustic feel) so we wanted to tie that in as well. Thus, The Secret Garden shoot was born.

We wanted to stick with warm, outdoorsy colors, so we went with greens and purples in various shades.  The centerpieces were simple: we just ordered various copies of The Secret Garden and stacked them up with a vase of garden variety flowers.

We used lots of flower pots, leafy greens and moss to decorate the tables, as well as the favor and place card table.  The place cards themselves were vintage luggage tags, tied to the favors, which of course had to be: keys!  The keys were also bottle openers, to keep guests thinking of the event long after it was over :)

Silver chargers, green napkins and green wineglasses balanced the black tablecloths and black lanterns to keep things earthy but not too dark.

The shoot itself is one of our favorites we’ve done, and we’ve heard nothing but good things.  We even got an email asking for this same theme on a wedding! :)

For the rest of the photos, please check out Facebook or our website and see the rest of the details.

Check back later this week for Jon & Monica’s Meet and Greet for their December 29th wedding.
